Company Profile:   Pacific Ridge Landscapes is a passionate and discerning, landscape construction company. We are based in Sidney/North Saanich and our work takes us all over the greater Victoria area, the Saanich Peninsula, and the Gulf Islands.  Our construction crew creates beautiful landscapes that include water features, patios, pergolas, boulder walls, green houses, stone staircases and so much more!  Since 2003, we have installed over 350 gardens ranging from small city back yards to large sprawling farms and country estates.

Job Description:  You will play a major role in the installation process from start to finish.  Each day will be different and can include:

  • Operating various tools and equipment, including: excavators, skid steers, various power tools, jackhammers, laser levels, measuring equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.

  • Safely transporting equipment and materials to and from the job site

  • Routinely load/unloading vehicles (including small machinery, supplies, etc)

  • Installing paving stone or natural stone patios, walkways and steps

  • Concrete work: forming, mixing, pouring, etc

  • Installing garden beds, flowers, shrubs, turf and trees

  • Installing landscape lighting, irrigation and water features

  • Using wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying

  • Interpreting hardscape design plans, structural drawings, and specifications

Learn and execute proper hardscaping techniques and proper handling of all materials. Show strong attention to detail and resourcefulness while working alongside the crew or independently.  Each PRL team member is highly dependable and has a solid work ethic. Individuals must be physically capable of properly lifting heavy materials on a regular basis. 


Duties:
 

  • Follow / understand project instructions from the Crew Foreman and execute tasks efficiently

  • Keep vehicles, machinery, and tools in good repair and working order

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times 

  • Haul and spread topsoil, stone, mulch and other landscape materials

  • Continuously improve knowledge, education & industry awareness


Requirements:

  • Team members must have a minimum of 3-5 years of construction experience

  • Reliable, trustworthy, punctual, and hard working

  • You must be able to communicate well with clients and colleagues

  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record

  • Your own vehicle is essential

  • Clean-cut appearance / personality

  • Provide 2 or 3 good references

  • Woodworking experience considered an asset, but not necessary

Other: This is a full-time, year round position with benefits.  Wage will be dependent on your skill set and will be reviewed after a 3-month probation period. Starting wage in the $30/hr range.

This position is available immediately and will be posted until the successful candidate is found.
